Flora of Virginia

The Flora of Virginia Exhibit
Submitted by Judy Thomas

...Just a reminder, The Flora of Virginia exhibit is open at the Library of Virginia through Saturday, Sept. 15. For more information, go to:  http://www.lva.virginia.gov/news/

I recently viewed the exhibit and really enjoyed it.  No photography is allowed inside the gallery, though I did take a photo in the foyer (which is allowed) of this vintage collecting container and plant press:

The exhibit includes images from the book, The Flora of Virginia, along with other botanical texts, porcelains, art, photographs and other expressions of botany in Virginia.  Information on Virginia ecology is provided, too.  The CVABA will be exhibiting concurrently with this larger exhibit in the month of May, and our opening activities, to which all are invited, is May 3, from 11-3.
